With apologies to those who already know, we thought we would explain exactly what is a chemise. A chemise is a light undergarment, sometimes styled to be worn under clothes and your granny might then have called it a "slip". Longer than a camisole, the design of which is similar, a chemise can also be worn as a nightdress. Many of the designs offered here are clearly for the bedroom.
